This is a remote position with up to 50% domestic travel required. Candidates may reside in any state within the United States and should expect frequent national travel.
The AbbVie Employer NAE is responsible for supporting and implementing strategic business initiatives in response to the changing healthcare environment, deployed specifically to national Employer Stakeholders via the AbbVie Employer Team with a focus on improving workforce health and productivity and maximizing strategic access to AbbVie’s therapies. The Employer NAE will be accountable for building effective stakeholder strategies and engagements that are on the forefront of emerging concerns impacting employee access, affordability, disease state awareness/management and medication value and access. This includes healthcare decision-makers (HCDMs) within national employer plan sponsors, employee benefit consultants (EBCs), and employer coalitions, as well as emerging stakeholders/influencers/vendors, national organizations, and professional/advocacy organizations.
The Employer NAE provides branded and unbranded messaging to employers and employer influencers/KOLs regarding the value and differentiation of AbbVie therapies to accelerate access to treatment and the use of benefit plan designs to identify and minimize barriers to affordable and predictable Rx access. The NAE also delivers messaging relating to disease state and burden of illness to increase the awareness of treatment solutions and explore solutions and develop best practices/case studies.
The Employer NAE will provide leadership to distinguish AbbVie in the employer channel, be a convener of stakeholders and regional/national KOLs and SMEs, and provide strategic insights internally in support of evolving business needs to ensure timely awareness of market changes and trends and inform internal business leads to ensure a rapid response to external disruptors and Rx management strategies which impact affordable access to AbbVie’s therapies.
This role is highly collaborative and consultative and requires partnering and interfacing with numerous cross-functional teams (Market Access leadership, Payer Strategy and Cross Portfolio Strategy and Pipeline, Training, Market Analytics Business Insights, Business Evolution Strategy Development (BESD), Brand Sales/Marketing, Government Affairs and Policy, Corporate Strategy, US Medical Affairs/Value & Access and Medical Outcomes Science & Science Liaisons (MOSLs); Finance, Legal, Compliance, Communications/PR, Field Reimbursement Leadership, Brand Sales/Marketing teams and internal Centers of Excellence (CoE). The NAE must demonstrate the ability to anticipate and act proactively and effectively in uncertain situations. Additionally, the NAE requires significant collaboration with the Corporate Accounts KAM teams, providing timely insights regarding evolving contracting trends and evolving rebate models, educating client-facing teams, and providing updates regarding downstream employer clients and formulary initiatives.
This position does not have direct reports but does require the ability to manage and lead without authority across cross-functional teams while also being able to work independently and productively.
The Employer NAE is the lead for regional employer initiatives working in conjunction with the Regional Account Executive (RAE) teams and Regional Directors, as well as compliant collaboration with the Population Heath Account Executive (PHAE) team. This includes identifying opportunities and/or employer access issues and training/educating and executing on use of Employer Team resources and messaging to health plan, health system, PBM and employer customers.
This role also is a key collaborator with other national field-based teams including the Field Reimbursement team, educating team members on market disruptors and problem-solving on employer-focused access issues. The Employer NAE serves as a key role in cataloguing key disruptors and potential patient disruption and analyzing potential financial (Gross to Net) impact, as well as working across internal stakeholders to develop and execute mitigation strategies.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
