Job Description

The Executive Director, Global Market Planning & Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence/efficiency across the U.S. marketing team and guiding global strategic brand and asset planning. This role will oversee execution of key cross-marketing initiatives and will orchestrate global strategic planning for Rezdiffra and development assets. This global marketing leader will partner closely key stakeholders across the U.S. and global teams in commercial, medical and R&D to optimize planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing Operations Leadership

  • Identify, centralize and lead tactical execution of key U.S. marketing initiatives in close collaboration with HCP and DTC marketing functions, including both not limited to operations supporting HCP congresses, HCP speaker/patient programs, and sales force fulfillment.
  • Serve as Promotional Review Committee (PRC) chair responsible for driving decision making at monthly and ad hoc PRC leadership committee; drive process improvements - inclusive of appropriate integration of AI - to drive consistency and efficiency of promotional reviews.
  • Lead annual cross-functional Global brand planning process in collaboration with U.S., Global and International teams in Commercial, Medical, HEOR, Legal, Regulatory and Finance.
  • Collaborate with HCP, DTC marketing and Strategy/Ops team to develop a holistic brand view on NPP (and in future omnichannel state) spend, ROI, and efficiency across channels.

2. Market Planning leadership

  • Serve as the commercial representative at program teams for development assets, providing commercial input into established program teams including but not limited to guide target product profiles (TPPs) development, clinical development plans, and key asset go/no-go decisions.
  • Partner closely with Commercial Strategy and Operations (CSO) team in aligning on customer insights and market research to drive assumptions on TPP development, commercial forecasting/valuations and scenario analyses to support R&D investment decisions.
  • Own the early brand strategy and positioning for pipeline assets, including target patient segments, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies in close collaboration with CSO partners

3. Fostering Connectivity and Innovation

  • Establish clear ways of working across Global and U.S. Marketing leadership with a focus on addressing operational inefficiencies, streamlining decision-making processes and propagating best practices.
  • Help lead quarterly Global and U.S. Marketing touchpoints to share key initiatives, drive cross team
  • Nurture innovative ideas and initiatives within teams to improve processes, strategies, and outcomes.

Required & Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business/Economics or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience with in-depth operating experience in Marketing, Strategic planning/New Product Planning, Marketing Operations with a significant experience in the U.S. market.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading successful product launches, high-visibility, complex and impactful initiatives, and cross-functional teams in a complex, regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a results-driven, business-owner mindset.
  • Exceptional leadership, written and verbal communication, and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Expertise in resource planning, performance management, and operational execution.

Compensation

Madrigal’s Total Rewards strategy is based on a biotech industry peer group comparator and is inclusive of base pay, bonus and equity. All employees receive equity, which we believe reinforces our ownership culture. Base salary is determined by several factors including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs and market demands.  As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position, applicable to all candidates, is $276,000 - $337,000 per year.  We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
