The Senior Salesforce Solutions Architect & Developer supports the evolution of our Salesforce platform. This pivotal role demands a blend of hands-on coding and configuration expertise, coupled with a strong architectural mindset to ensure our Salesforce ecosystem is robust, scalable, and aligned with long-term business objectives. You will work on a small agile team - instrumental in understanding the end-to-end flow of data and processes, from initial input to final output, across our integrated systems. Your Contributions to the Organization will be:

  • Strategic Solution Design & Architecture: Support and sometimes lead the design and implementation of complex Salesforce solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technical requirements and architectural blueprints, considering long-term vision, architectural patterns, and impact on the broader enterprise architecture

  • End-to-End System Integration & Data Ecosystem Management: Architect, develop, and manage robust integration solutions that connect Salesforce with external systems. This includes a deep understanding of data inputs, processing, and outputs, ensuring seamless data flow, data modelling, and data governance across the entire ecosystem

  • Advanced Salesforce Development & Configuration: Design, develop, and deploy custom Apex code, Visualforce pages, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and other programmatic solutions. Perform advanced configuration of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Salesforce CPQ, optimizing functionality and user experience. Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards

  • Technical Leadership & Best Practices: Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior developers. Champion Salesforce best practices, security standards, and governance policies to ensure high-quality, secure, and sustainable solutions

  • Business Analysis & Process Optimization: Partner with business units to analyze current processes, identify pain points, and propose innovative Salesforce-based solutions that drive efficiency and achieve strategic goals

  • Platform Governance & Evolution: Stay abreast of new Salesforce features, releases, and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and approaches to continuously enhance the Salesforce platform's capabilities and value

This Job might be for you if: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • 8-12 years of experience preferred, of progressive experience in Salesforce development, administration, and solution architecture, with a proven track record of delivering complex, scalable solutions

  • Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks. Works on or may lead complex projects of varied scope

  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Certifications: 

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II (or equivalent experience) is preferred. Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect credentials are highly preferred

Required Technical Expertise:

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Salesforce CPQ, including advanced configuration and customization

  • Mastery of Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce APIs

  • Proven experience designing and implementing complex integrations using various methods, including:

    • Dell Boomi: Extensive experience in designing, building, and deploying integration processes

    • Apigee: Experience with API Management and gateway solutions

    • REST/SOAP APIs: Expert-level understanding and application of API design principles and integration patterns

    • Apache Kafka: Experience with event streaming architectures and real-time data processing

  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data governance, security models, and large data volume considerations within Salesforce

Preferred Technical Expertise:

  • Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud / Marketing Cloud

  • Experience with Conga applications, especially CLM

  • Familiarity with identity and access management solutions like OKTA

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for Salesforce (e.g., CI/CD, version control)

The salary range listed, including variable commissions, is an estimate and is not guaranteed. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual and company performance, experience, skills, and other business factors.
