Primary Responsibilities:
In‑Role Coaching & Development of Rheumatology Therapeutic Area Specialists (TASs)
Provide intentional, in‑role coaching aligned to defined learning objectives and core competencies, including scientific agility, customer and commercial mindset, change agility, collaboration, and enterprise mindset.
Conduct purposeful, selective ride‑alongs with TASs for high‑priority healthcare providers (HCPs), aligned to individualized coaching plans and performance needs.
Own and accountability for the TAS development journey, ensuring continuous improvement in critical skills and behaviors such as:
Scientific and clinical acumen
Patient‑centric mindset
Digital and analytical agility
Customer experience and execution excellence
Foster a culture of continuous feedback, development, and accountability to drive sustainable performance.
Champion Adoption of Capabilities & New Ways of Working:
Develop a thorough understanding of and role‑model adoption of new enterprise capabilities and tools, including AI analytics, content personalization, and digital engagement platforms.
Effectively coach TASs on the appropriate and compliant use of insights generated from AI and other tools to enhance:
Call planning
Call preparation
Account prioritization and execution
Regularly convene the field team to:
Share best practices and real‑world experiences
Surface barriers and collect actionable feedback
Proactively coach through change and transformation
Drive sustained adoption of new capabilities and evolving ways of working
Strategic Planning & District Execution:
Leverage franchise, customer, and performance insights to:
Prioritize accounts
Develop differentiated strategies for key customers
Drive execution aligned to brand and enterprise priorities
Lead and execute district‑level strategic planning activities, including:
Promotional program planning
Budget planning and resource allocation
Execution reviews and continuous improvement
Maintain a strong focus on improving the customer experience across the patient care journey.
Lead financial and program planning for the district, ensuring disciplined execution, effectiveness, and compliance.
Compliance & Governance:
Operate with the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
Fully comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Bristol Myers Squibb policies and procedures, including corporate, regulatory, and promotional guidelines.
Ensure TAS adherence to compliance requirements across call activity, promotional programs, data reporting, and expense management.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of five (5) years of pharmaceutical or related healthcare industry experience.
Prior experience as a District Business Manager in pharmaceutical sales, or equivalent experience leading and developing high‑performing teams, is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of the pharmaceutical marketplace, including reimbursement, access, and distribution dynamics.
Proven track record of inspiring, coaching, and leading teams to achieve or exceed performance goals.
Demonstrated success in selecting, developing, and retaining talent.
Experience requiring strong:

Business acumen
Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical value chain

Compensation Overview:
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:
Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
