Specialty Development Executive – Specialty Medicine Segment

Job Description

Labcorp is seeking a Specialty Development Executive-Specialty Medicine Segment to join our team in California.      

      

The territory for this position covers the Sacramento, CA territory. The ideal candidate would reside within the territory.

      

Job Responsibilities:      

  • Function as an outside sales representative primarily focused on growing and retaining business in the defined, assigned territory, within the specialty segments namely Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Medical Drug Monitoring, Neurology, Rheumatology, and Urology.
  • Maintain and organize an annual book of business, while meeting and exceeding sales growth goals in the assigned territory. Achieve long and short-term sales objectives by providing specialty solutions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and champion of Labcorp's expansive list of testing solutions for customers and prospective clients
  • Create effective customer relationships. Make in person visits to clients on a regular basis to provide ongoing customer support, education on focus products and market updates for current customer base using sales analytics and insights
  • Act as a liaison between the client and Labcorp. Collaborate, communicate and actively contribute to new business opportunities with Labcorp Clinical Sales counterparts
  • Keep current with the competition's products, service offerings and activity
  • Stay updated of new products, clinical guidelines, new developments in the industry & research trends
  • Use market data, sales analytics and insights to make sales decisions and spot new business opportunities.
  • Provide updates to senior leadership on key strategic initiatives and new business opportunities
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all company support departments internally
  • Effectively manage travel logistics to maximize sales productivity
  • Attend local and national professional trade shows and events as requested
  • Update all relevant customer account information into Salesforce

  

Minimum Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma  
  • 5 or more years of outside medical sales experience  

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

   

Additional Job Standards:      

  • A strong degree of comfort in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Experience with a wide range of hospitals and hospital systems - DOD, academic, urban, rural, VA, etc. highly preferred (preferably within the given market)
  • Successful experience in the AP or clinical specialties space preferred
  • Strong technical competency and business acumen capabilities
  • Previous clinical laboratory or diagnostics sales experience highly desired  
  • Experience in bringing in new business for organizations 
  • Proven success managing a book of business   
  • Ability to collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to grow the business   
  • Strong consultative selling and closing skills   
  • Ability to understand complex scientific literature and use clinical data as a selling factor   
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal   
  • Excellent time management and organization skills   
  • Ability to travel overnight 2 to 3 times per month   
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record

Pay Range: $110,000 - $120,000

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. 

The position is also eligible for bonus and/or commissions under the applicable variable compensation plan.  Bonus/commissions are earned based on achievement of performance metrics under the plan.  

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
